All features that are wholly or partly exposed during excavation are assigned feature numbers, and their physical characteristics are recorded in detail. The following feature data are available in this section of the database:

• actual and inferred dimensions
• plan view and cross-section types
• shape description
• construction method
• modification/remodeling
• use history
• associated features
