Because this structure way dry-laid, contained no prepared surface or features, and was unroofed, the structure use is unknown. Members of the Native American Advisory Team interpreted structures like Structure 407 as a shrine.

Abandonment
|
Structure 407 was abandoned in the late Pueblo III period, immediately prior to regional abandonment. Natural sediment accumulated within and above this structure. Artifacts were most likely washed in from surrounding areas of higher elevation.
