Austin Coochyamptewa

Austin Coochyamptewa is an artist, tour guide and cultural educator from the Hopi village of Mishungnovi, on Hopi’s Second Mesa in Arizona. He is a member of the blue bird clan and an advocate for clean water for Hopi. He has demonstrated artistic techniques of weaving and carving at numerous museums and historic sites throughout the southwest and specializes in traditional style kachina dolls, baskets, and woven textiles.
