Carol Patterson

Archaeologist

Carol Patterson, Ph.D., is a cultural anthropologist, archaeologist, and principal investigator for Urraca Archaeological Services in Montrose, Colorado. She was an adjunct professor of cultural anthropology and archaeology at Colorado Mesa University and at Metropolitan State University, Colorado. Carol has published numerous articles and books about rock images, including petroglyphs and pictographs found in and around the Uncompahgre Plateau and Shavano Valley. A few of her book publications include: On the Trail of Spider Woman, Petroglyphs of Western Colorado, and the Northern Ute Indian Reservation as Interpreted by Clifford Duncan.
