Grant Snitker is an environmental archaeologist and paleo-fire scientist specializing in the dynamic feedback between fire, humans, and long-term environmental change. His current research focuses on anthropogenic fire in social-ecological systems using comparative case studies in Spain, the U.S.southeast, and the Pacific Northwest. Snitker earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Arizona State University and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences and an Associate of the Center for Archaeological Sciences at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
