Tara Travis

Mesa Verde National Park

Dr. Tara Travis is a public historian whose work has focused on the four-corners region: working with tribal communities; managing museum collections; designing and installing exhibits; and promoting historic preservation. In her current position as Supervisory Museum Curator at Mesa Verde National Park and Yucca House National Monument, she has directed the move of the museum collection and the installation of exhibits at the new Visitor and Research Center (VRC), and more recently, shepherded the Gift of the Estate of David Rockefeller from the collection of David and Peggy Rockefeller. Prior to this position, she served for ten years as an ethno-historian in the NPS Office of Indian Affairs and American Culture.
