Travel with Crow Canyon: Dr. Joseph Suina’s Story

History and archaeology of the Southwest at times have been presented as if native civilizations disappeared a thousand years ago. Dr. Joseph Suina, a Native American scholar and an expert on multicultural education, emphasizes that their descendants are still here, in the Pueblo communities of today. He describes leading Crow Canyon travel programs in partnership with academic archaeologists, programs in which archaeology and knowledge of Native American culture inform each other. Crow Canyon Archaeological Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance knowledge through archaeological research, educational programs, and collaboration with American Indians. Founded in 1983, Crow Canyon offers domestic and international trips for lifelong learners, in the American Southwest and around the world. Video courtesy of B.
