Leigh Kuwanwisiwma is a member of the Greasewood Clan from the village of Bacavi on Third Mesa. Leigh Directed the Hopi Cultural Preservation Office from 1989 to 2018. He is the author of many articles and technical reports and co-editor of several books, including Becoming Hopi: A History; Footprints of Hopi History: Hopihiniwtiput Kukveni’at; and Moquis and Kastiilam: Hopis, Spaniards, and the Trauma of History. Leigh co-directed Crow Canyon’s Pueblo Farming Project between 2005 and 2018.
