This bibliography presents a compilation of references on Southwest maize, including the evolution, development, and spread of maize from present day Mexico into the Southwest. The bibliography is organized into several sections. The first section presents most of the references associated with the spreadsheet of dated Southwest maize compiled for the Maize Database Project. The second section presents publications on research about Southwest maize. The third section provides citations for ethnographic studies of maize that began in the late 1800s and continue to the present. The fourth section includes publications on genetic and isotopic studies of maize. The final section presents publications on the use of experimental gardens to research and better understanding the growth, development, and productivity of Southwest maize.
